In German, we have "Analogiebildung", i.e. 'word formed according to an example'. We can also use "Analogie" in the metonymic sense 'something equivalent to something else/an example'. No sense denotes a process (as the English definition suggests), but the most common sense indicates a condition ('equivalence, similarity').

Which sense of "analogy"/"analogie" are you considering here? - Thank you, Annette
